A PCAB license is basically a permit that construction companies need to legally operate in the Philippines.
PCAB stands for Philippine Contractors Accreditation Board, and they make sure that only qualified and trustworthy contractors are doing construction work in the Philippines. Whether you're building houses, roads, malls, or doing big infrastructure projects, you need this license to show that your company is legit and meets the required standards.
Think of it like a driver’s license—but for construction businesses. No license, no building!
And if a construction company wants to apply for a PCAB License, it needs to meet certain requirements. The main requirements being:
The company should either be a Filipino-owned sole proprietorship or a partnership/corporation that's at least 60% Filipino-owned (it used to be 70%)
The business must be properly registered and operating under Philippine laws Basically, the PCAB license is meant for companies that are in majority, Filipino-owned and legally based in the country.
