DPWH CRC: What is it? Do I need it for my business?

As an Accounting and Consultancy Firm providing various services for our clients, this is one question we always get.

What is DPWH CRC?

DPWH CRC means Department of Public Works and Highways Contractor Registration Certificate. The DPWH has established a Registry of Civil Works Contractors, managed by the Procurement Service, which is a database of the contractors’ legal, financial and technical information. Having the DPWH CRC will mean that you will be included in the Registry of Civil Works Contractors, allowing you to bid and acquire civil works contracts under the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH). DPWH projects for bidding are posted in the DPWH website wherein prospective bidders can download bidding documents and pay at any DPWH offices nationwide. The procurement of contracts for locally funded projects by the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) is governed by Republic Act No. 9184, also known as the Government Procurement Reform Act, and its Implementing Rules and Regulations.

Do I need it for my business?

If you are looking to secure any projects under DPWH (infrastructure projects), yes, you will definitely need this certificate.

If you're not planning to bid for projects under DPWH, no, you do not need this certificate.
